Trimble Novapoint Rail - Road - Utilities 21
New features in 3D Road Intersection
You can now produce 3D solids and pull legs along their alignment. The alignment contains task name in the latest update (Novapoint 21 FP4).
The modelling engine is completely overhauled!
Road, Rail and Utilities now use a modelling engine that has been massively overhauled "under the hood". This has resulted in new and more compact storage to handle larger corridor models, capabilities of handling 19 surfaces for each main surface group, additional 2 new pavement layers, all numbers represented in 64 bit for increased accuracy. And all superstructure layers plus cut & fill may be represented as features with solid geometry representation.
Feature Catalogue - Changes for road, rail and ditch body
The feature types to model superstructure and substructure are changed. A single feature type is now used to model all superstructure layers, where property values tells what type of superstructure layer it is.
Alignments - clear separation of Alignments from other lines and edges
When you define a new Alignment task, you should now pick a template first, wether it is a Road Alignment, a Rail Alignment, etc. or if it is "Non"-Alignment. This is important since this will control whether a Link is created "behind the scenes" or not. Alignments will get Links, and corridor features will automatically connect to them.
Insert surfaces with correct feature type
When you insert surfaces during road/rail modelling, you now will see what feature type that surface will get in Quadri. This is based on the conversion rule used in the task. This makes it easier for the user to select the correct surfaces according to what features is wanted in the model. This also reduces the need for you to adjust conversion rules.
Edit neighbouring roads without switching active task
When you are working on a road task with one or several parallel roads/ramps (that are in other tasks), you can add these as illustration tasks, as before. What is new is that you can right click on these roads in the Cross-section Viewer, and edit them directly, without switching between active tasks. For the active road task and the road tasks as illustration objects you now have access to all the Design menus directly from right-click in the Cross-section Viewer. You can also build road tasks used as illustration object from the right-click menu.
3D junctions in "3 seconds"
Novapoint has had capabilities for modelling junctions in 3D. We are now releasing a much more powerful approach! Switch between 3D roundabouts and T-/X-junctions in seconds! And if you need to further edit the result, we have worked hard to make all edges editable from Alignment Design.
IFC export of Utilities
You can now export all information from Utiltities to IFC. In the Utilities task's settings, you can add user defined attributes. Use the new conversion rule for IFC2x3 to add user-defined PropertySets. New settings makes it possible to add user-defined attributes on all objects.
Utilities - with full control over calculation basis!
If you have a complex calculation basis for your trench, you can now use Priority to control in detail which objects to cut the trench surfaces against. The priorities are found in the tasks Settings.
Quantity Takeoff
This function is found in the same place as before (inside the tools), but now uses the new engine also used in the new Table View.
