ÅF and Kreera design large rail project with Trimble´s BIM solution
Multidisciplinary BIM modelling of the Maland rail project in Sweden provides better project collaboration and results. Geographically spread design engineers in Gävle, Malmö and Sundsvall are collaboratively designing in Novapoint sharing a joint Quadri model for road, rail, terrain and water/sewer.

Swedish transport network solution nearing completion
Trimble and Triona are developing a new transport network solution for Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration. The solution is a key part of Trafikverket´s large-scale ANDA project, as is now in its completion phase.
The planning master of infrastructure
30 years of genuine passion for the planning discipline is making efficient time/distance planning resulting in better rail and road projects in Norway – thanks to a real planning veteran and Trimble´s planning tool TILOS.
R&D project shall halve the engineering time for infrastructure projects
Following broad political interest to considerably reduce today´s far too long planning time for infrastructure projects, a new R&D project aims to reduce the engineering time by 50%.
Aalborg tests in-house 3D design of own roads
The city of Aalborg has started a pioneer project to check out the benefits of in-house 3D design of its own roads. A 4,3 km long municipal road is currently being designed with Trimble´s BIM tools Novapoint and Quadri – whilst simultaneously building up the municipality´s own 3D engineering skills.
3D modelling solved the sewage problems
How do you fix 40 years of sewage problems and a poorly documented spaghetti of pipes, manholes and cables in the ground? COWI found a solution, which the Stavanger WS authorities, the cable owners, the trenching contractors, as well as the residents along the troubled road are very pleased with.
Sets the standard for BIM in railway projects
The Norwegian National Rail Administration´s holistic approach to 3D and BIM design in the large InterCity project around Oslo spurs innovation and major benefits throughout the design and construction phase.
Progress with new BIM technology
“Creating progress for clients since 1895” is a very strong ÅF message. Since 2015 ÅF can also claim new progress in its infrastructure engineering offering – being a pioneer in using new BIM technology for infrastructure projects.
Swedish Transport Administration ready for BIM
During 2015 nearly 500 of the employees at the Swedish Transport Administration – Trafikverket have been trained in BIM. Simultaneously, BIM is implemented as the new work methodology in Trafikverket´s infrastructure projects. Both are crucial measures that industry players now must adhere to – if they want to be competitive.
3D modelling eases WS engineering in Oslo
As the largest and leading municipal water and sewer agency in Norway, Oslo VAV also exemplary leads the way in multidiscipline 3D modelling of WS projects.
