Trimble and Triona develop lifecycle asset information management system for Norway´s state-owned road builder Nye Veier

Nye Veier and the contractor Acciona have commissioned Trimble and Triona to deliver a pilot system for managing all digital information of the road project Ranheim-Værnes – for the entire lifecycle of the road project.

The solution, referred to as an AIM system (Asset Information Management), shall integrate all BIM, GIS and resource data and function as a collective management system for the road. The pilot is carried out as part of the E6 road development between Ranheim and Værnes in mid Norway, a construction project Nye Veier has awarded to the Spanish contractor Acciona Construction.

The main goal of the pilot delivery is to take care of and manage all the digital data throughout the lifecycle of the road project – from planning, design and construction, to the operation and management phase.

To realize the project, the parties have chosen to use existing products combined with open standards and integration platforms. This ensures that the solution meets today´s needs whilst simultaneous being flexible to be expanded for future needs. For example, extensions related to inspection, condition, documentation, incidents and digital twins.

AIM pilot combines Quadri and TNE to one solution to take care of and manage all the digital data in all phases of the project.

The pilot project combines Trimble´s and Triona's respective standard tools Quadri and TNE in order for BIM models and networks with associated assetss to interact seamlessly. The products are accessed through a unified, secure integration platform. As part of the delivery, a web portal will also be developed, allowing users to view the project areas in different map layers and to study the various BIM models.

An important element of the pilot is the integration with the Norwegian National Road Database (NVDB), where existing data of the road network is managed. The project will also use a new standardized data format, OpenTNF, and the classification system CoClass.
